Michigan Alliance of Reading Professors is dedicated to developing and maintaining a friendly online community. We want our members and visitors to feel relaxed, comfortable and safe; to feel free to exchange ideas and information, and to enjoy themselves without disruption. This is a place where all participants share one thing in common: a dedication to supporting and improving the lives of Michigan's families through effective literacy instruction.
Standards
In order to create the environment described above, we've established a set of community standards. We expect all participants on our forum to act responsibly and to respect our community and its members. Conduct should be guided by common sense, basic etiquette and the rules listed here.
Topics and Language
Conversation on the forum centers on supporting and improving the lives of Michigan´s families through effective literacy instruction. Topics not of this nature are not appropriate for discussion on the Michigan Alliance of Reading Professors forum. Profanity and vulgar language are not acceptable in any discussions on the forum. Messages containing inappropriate language will be deleted as soon as they are detected. Members who post such items will be prohibited from posting without notice. Please choose your words gently when you post.
Harassment and Flaming
Sometimes discussions turn into disagreements. Please remember when posting that, while it is acceptable to disagree with an idea, it is not acceptable to abuse members who think differently than you do. It is equally unacceptable to abuse administrators who are speaking on behalf of the Michigan Alliance of Reading Professors. Community members are not permitted to harass or flame other members or administrators. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, disparaging remarks or hateful comments based on gender, race, ethnic background or religion. Members who resort to this type of unacceptable behavior will be locked out of our community. If you feel you are being harassed or flamed by another member, please contact the Michigan Alliance of Reading Professors immediately at cipielew@oakland.edu.
Advertising and Infringement
Members are not allowed to advertise on the Michigan Alliance of Reading Professors forum. A member may answer another member's question about their occupation or business. However, blatant advertising or solicitation of business is not allowed. No commercial messages or solicitations that have not been authorized by Michigan Alliance of Reading Professors will be permitted on any message forum, and will be removed by the administrators. Repeated attempts to post messages that are deemed to be promotional in nature will result in the loss of posting privileges.
Michigan Alliance of Reading Professors members may not infringe on anyone else's intellectual property rights, including any copyright, trademark, and rights of publicity or other proprietary rights. Please be sure that any work you post is your own.
Disruption
Michigan Alliance of Reading Professors members may not disrupt the flow of conversation on the forum. The repeated posting of off-topic materials will result in the loss of posting privileges.
Time Limits
Discussions will be deleted 730 days after the last posting.

By posting in or reading any messages on the Michigan Alliance of Reading Professors forum, members agree to abide by the rules posted on this page.
